Got an order today for Layered Box Fins from Peter Ware of Friar Tuck Kneeboards fame. That's right, the original Friar! He shares my love for layered fins and I'll be making up a panel for him with four colors similar to the ones above but with black on the inside and then red, white and yellow moving to the outside. The Friar favors being able to adjust fin placement based on surf conditions and as such, prefers to have box fins, even on quads! Unheard of in the industry today yet smart and functional. I hate to think of how many boards out there were labelled a dog simply because of fin placement that was a 1/4" off. Therefore the ability to move fins around is brilliant. Combine that with a beautiful foil and layered colors and you've got a pretty special set of fins under foot!
